The topic of the research is the time perception in the home environment, and the result of the research, is an improved framework on how time can be perceived in four different levels at home by the users, and how this has implication in the design of objects that can create moment of qualitative time and connectedness in the home environment.
The first part of the research has been characterized by an initial exploration of the field of research, familiarization with the context and the participants, and by the discovery process of possible fields for the future research. From the analysis of the first part of the research, the research question was created: how can we design with time as a design material in order to connect people in the home environment and create qualitative moments of connectedness? The second part of the research is started with the creation of a prototype with the value of design probe, to understand better the relationship between time, practices and space. During this phase, the prototype was deployed in the context for 7 weeks in total, with a planned long term user test approach.
